Hot shooting led the Black Hills State University men's basketball program to an easy win over Colorado Christian, 97-73 Saturday at the Donald E. Young Center.

The Yellow Jackets shot 64.2 percent from the field, 40-of-62, and 10-of-18, 55.6 percent, from 3-point range. Fraser Malcom had 20 points while Dez Stoudamire had 19 and Connor O'Hearn pitched in 13.

BHSU, 13-10 overall and 10-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, takes on Colorado Mesa Saturday in Spearfish.

Second half surge leads Colorado Mines past Hardrockers

Colorado School of Mines outscored the South Dakota School of Mines men 41-21 in the second half to turn a 32-31 halftime lead into a 73-52 win.

Colorado Mines was led by Michael Glen who scored 18 along with Ben Sonnefeld and Adam Laine who both had 14. The Hardrockers were led by Jake Heath and Logan Elers who both had 12.

South Dakota Mines, 7-17 overall and 4-15 in the RMAC, will take on Western State Colorado Friday at the King Center.

Daum leads South Dakota State over Oral Roberts 85-75

Mike Daum had 27 points and 14 rebounds and made all 11 of his foul shots to help South Dakota State beat Oral Roberts 85-75 on Saturday night in Tulsa.

David Jenkins scored 16 points for the Jackrabbits (22-6, 10-1 Summit League), who won their fifth straight and 13th of the last 14. Skyler Flatten made all six of his shots from the field, including three 3s, and added 15 points and six assists. It was Daum's seventh straight double-double.

Clutch scoring leads Hardrocker women by Orediggers

The South Dakota School of Mines women's basketball team bounced back from a tough rivalry loss Tuesday to Black Hills State University and topped Colorado School of Mines Saturday 65-57 at the King Center.

Nicole Archambeau led the Orediggers with 21 points, but it was the balanced offense of South Dakota Mines, led by Anna Haugen's 12 points, that was more than enough for the Hardrockers.

South Dakota Mines, 15-10 overall and 10-9 in the RMAC, takes on Western State Colorado Friday at the King Center.

Black Hills State University got 20 points from Lyndzi Rich and eased by Colorado Christian 80-58 at the Donald E. Young Center Saturday.

BHSU led 27-12 at the end of the first quarter, 45-30 at halftime and 70-44 at the end of the third quarter. Jordan Baer scored 14 for CCU and Haley Shaner added 12 while Rich and Julia Seamans led the way for BHSU. Seamans scored 15.

The Yellow Jackets, 19-6 overall 13-6 in the RMAC, host Colorado Mesa Saturday.

SDSU women run past Oral Roberts

Scoring balance again was the key for the South Dakota State Saturday afternoon as the Jackrabbits had six players score in double figures in their 96-72 Summit League win over Oral Roberts in front of 2,403 fans at Frost Arena. SDSU has now scored 90 or more points seven times this season and four times in its last five contests.

South Dakota State improved to 21-5 overall and 10-1 in Summit League play while Oral Roberts is 15-10, 6-5.

USD women cruise past Doane

South Dakota cruised to its 15th-straight victory with a 96-54 drubbing of Doane inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.

 All 13 Coyotes scored in the contest with five reaching double figures for South Dakota (21-5). Junior Jaycee Bradley scored a team-high 17 points in 17 minutes of action. Bradley made a trio of 3-pointers in the contest.
