Indian Rodeo returns to the BHSSR in 2006 with the Saturday, Jan. 28, Great Plains Indian Shoot Out. The 1:30 p.m. performance will feature the top 10 from 2005 in the region.

The Great Plains Indian Rodeo Association has a long, glorious history of contestants and world champions. Jim Jacobs, Howard Hunter, Marty Hebb, Kakes Tibbetts, Terry Fisher and many others have walked away with World Championship buckles from the Indian National Finals Rodeo.

One of the shining stars for this year is Trevor Jacobs of Pine Ridge. The son of former PRCA bareback rider and INFR qualifier Tim Jacobs, Trevor has excelled in bull riding. He was the reserve world champion at the 2005 INFR at San Carlos, Ariz., one of only two contestants to cover three bulls during the event. His INFR qualification marked him as the youngest bull rider from the Great Plains Region to ever compete at the INFR. Trevor is also a South Dakota state champion high school wrestler from 2005.

Here's the roster for the Great Plains Indian Shootout Rodeo, set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center arena.

Who would you take No. 1?

Who would you take No. 1?

There's been a lot of debate lately as folks feel like Duke's Jahlil Okafor may have played himself out of the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft.

Does anybody (ever) beat the 'Cats?

I'm not a fan of Kentucky or John Calipari but I can give the Wildcats the respect they're due.
