The Rapid City Rush will be getting a reinforcement before its series with the Utah Grizzlies, as it announced that Chase Lang has been assigned to Rapid City from the Iowa Wild.
Lang has spent all of this season with Iowa and in 20 games he has two assists and eight penalty minutes.
Last season the 21-year-old forward was with Iowa and the Quad City Mallards, but spent most of his time with the Mallards where he tallied four goals and two assists for six points. He appeared in one game with Iowa.
The 2014 sixth round draft pick by Minnesota played four years of junior hockey in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen and the Vancouver Giants. He played in 244 WHL games, 189 with Calgary and 55 with Vancouver.
With the Hitmen, he registered 66 goals and 89 assists for 155 points.
The Rush (8-21-1-0) will have Lang in the lineup when they travel to Utah to take on the Grizzlies (12-12-5-3) Friday and Saturday. The puck drops for both games from West Valley City at 7:05 p.m.
