RAPID CITY - The South Dakota School of Mines men's and women's track team made a return trip to Fort Collins on Saturday for the Jack Christenson Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado.

Senior Chandler Caldwell earned the title in the pole vault event, clearing a height of 15 feet, 9 inches. Caldwell has already automatically qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Meet in St. Louis at the end of this season.

Joining Caldwell will be fellow senior Tyler Flattumin the 110-meter high hurdles. Flattum also automatically qualified for the NAIA meet earlier this season. During Saturday's meet, Flattum raced to a fourth-place finish, clocking a time of 14.84 seconds in the 110's.

On the women's side, freshman Brittany Hovdenes put forth a good showing in the 3,000 steeplechase taking fifth place and posting a time of 13:01.89.
