Girard, Kan., toppled Canyon Lake 14-1 in the first game of the Little League Softball Central Regional on Thursday.
The Kansas squad broke the game open in the fourth inning with five hits, three walks while taking advantage of a couple of errors to score 10 runs.
"We were pretty nervous out there today and it showed," said Canyon Lake manager Geno Willuweit.
"There were lots of jitters. Kansas has a pretty salty team and they hit the ball well. If you take away the one bad inning we played pretty even with them," said Willuweit.
Lexi Morrison took the loss on the mound for Canyon Lake.
Willuweit who coached in the same regional in 2007 expects his squad to rebound today.
"I think your going to see a whole different team. They were a little mad at the way they played today."
Megan Wattenhoder scored the lone Canyon Lake run.
Canyon Lake (0-1) will take on Perryville, Mo., in a 5 p.m. MDT game tonight with Kesley Hendrickson slated to start.
