RAPID CITY - The Rapid City expansion hockey team that will begin play in the Central Hockey League for the 2008-09 season announces it is looking for a team nickname.

The next step on the agenda for Rapid City Professional Hockey, LLC is to launch a Name-the-Team Contest. The contest is open to any willing participant with a valid email address.

"We are thrilled to have received such a warm welcome from the Rapid City community, and we are anxious to see what names they suggest for the hockey team," said co-owner Scott Mueller. "The Name-the-Team Contest is a great way to get the community involved."

Applicants may submit their suggestions online at www.rapidcityprohockey.com. The contest runs through Sept. 12. If more than one applicant submits the winning name, those applicants will be entered into a grand prize drawing for VIP Treatment at a home game next season. This will include two premium tickets, limo service to and from the game, two team jerseys and participation in the ceremonial puck drop.

The winning name will be chosen by the owners group and will be announced at a later date.

For ticket information, please contact Rapid City Professional Hockey at 716-PUCK (7825). For news about the team, go to www.rapidcityprohockey.com.
