BOX ELDER - Lead-Deadwood continued its dominance with a 51-stroke victory at the Black Hills Conference tournament Wednesday at Prairie Ridge Golf Course.
The Golddiggers posted a team score of 353, led by medalist Tara Hofer, who had an 82. Lead-Deadwood had its other four players in the top six, with Dani Bellet (89), Jenessa Rantapaa (91), Tassy Rantapaa (91) and Ellise Nichols (93) taking third through sixth, respectively.
St. Thomas More's Megan Byram finished runner-up with an 89.
Belle Fourche was second in the team race at 404. Custer (425) took third, More (464) was fourth and Douglas (505) ended up in fifth.
Newell's only player, Jordan Trohkimoinen, took seventh with a 94. Patriot Brooke Schafer was eighth with a 95, the Broncs' Ashley Watson wound up in ninth with a 98 and Custer's Galen Himrich rounded out the top-10 with a 99.
