Rapid City South tops South Central; loses to Winner

BURKE/WINNER - Rapid City South topped South Central 7-4 and lost to Winner 6-1 in high school baseball action on Sunday.

Taylor Klapperich, an eighth-grader, pitched 5-2/3 innings of one-run ball to get the win in the opener. Nolan Johnson was a home run short of the cycle and Alex Hollibaugh added two hits.

Dave Bickett got the save for South.

South (3-5 in Class B play) will play again today when they travel to Martin to play Bennett County at 6 p.m. South will then host Hot Springs on Tuesday at Pete Lien Memorial Field at 7:30 p.m.
