RAPID CITY - The Rapid City Stevens cross country awards were recently released.

Greater Dakota Conference champion and all-state selection Darren Messenger, a senior, was named the boys most valuable performer, while junior Annie Pfeifle received the honor on the girls side. Messenger was also a NHSACA All-American, while Pfeifle was an all-GDC and all-state selection.

Freshman Tanner Chleborad and senior Emily DeVries were named Rookie of the Year, while junior Tom Kjerengtroen and sophomore Sara Johnston were named most improved.

Liz Burke, Sr.-All-GDC, GDC scholar athlete, all-academic.

Emily DeVries, Sr.-Rookie of the Year, all-GDC.

Thomas Helmers, Sr.-GDC scholar athlete, all-academic

Darren Messenger, Sr.-Most Valuable, GDC champion, all-state, NHSACA All-American.

Tyler Niederwerder, Sr.-All-GDC, GDC scholar athlete, all-academic.

Taryn Sahli, Sr.-All-GDC, GDC scholar athlete, all-academic.

Tom Kjerengtroen, Jr.-Most Improved.

Annie Pfeifle, Jr.-Most Valuable, all-GDC, all-state.

Nathan Richardson, Jr.-All-GDC.

Sara Johnston, Soph.-Most Improved.

Tanner Chleborad, Fr.-Rookie of the Year.
