WHITE RIVER - Four starters scored in double figures for New Underwood as the No. 7-ranked Tigers rolled to a 73-56 victory over White River in girls basketball action.

"It was our most complete game," New Underwood coach Dallas Richter said. "We played a real good four quarters. Four starters: Jaymason Whipple, Candi Hall, Devin Smith and Kelsie Schwartz shot the ball very well - any given night any one of those can put up the points and be a leader."

Whipple paced New Underwood with 19 points. Schwartz and Smith each added 14 and Hall netted 12.

Caitlin Whiting paced White River with a game-high 20 points.

Shooting proved to be key for the New Underwood. The visitors shot 58 percent from the field (26-45) and 70 percent from the free throw line (19-27). White River shot 42 percent

(25-60) from the field and 43 percent from the line.

New Underwood held a slim advantage in other statistics. The victors led in rebounding 30-29. White River had 23 turnovers as compared to 19 for New Underwood.

New Underwood (9-0) hosts the Rapid City Central JV on Monday. White River (5-7) plays Lyman in the opening round of the Southern Plains Tournament in Murdo on Thursday.

Bon Homme 51, Chamberlain 43

BON HOMME - Raychel Genant scored 17 and Cassie Schuurmans tallied 10 for the Lady Cavaliers as Bon Homme downed Chamberlain 51-43.

Bon Homme cruised to an early 19-5 lead and then held the Cubs in check to pick up the win.

Kelsey Schindler posted a double-double for Chamberlain with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jackie Willard added 11 before fouling out.

Chamberlain (1-9) hosts Gregory on Monday and Bon Homme (9-3) play at Parkston on Friday.

Harding County 58, Timber Lake 47

TIMBER LAKE - Three players scored in double figures as Harding County defeated Timber Lake 58-47 in girls basketball action.

The Ranchers led 17-12 after one and then outscored the Panthers 13-7 in the second quarter to take a 30-19 lead at halftime.

Kristi Slaba led the Ranchers with 14 points; Samantha Jensen added 11 and Amanda Jenson 10.

Kali Nash scored a game-high 20 points to pace Timber Lake.

Timber Lake (7-3 ) plays in the Little Moreau Conference on Thursday. Harding County (8-1) also opens Little Moreau Conference play on Thursday.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 55, Red Cloud 43

EAGLE BUTTE - No. 10 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte turned up the defense and came away with a 55-43 win over Red Cloud.

CEB outscored Red Cloud by nine points in the second and third quarters to take a 41-29 lead entering the final quarter.

The Braves put the clamps on Marque Lunderman as the Crusader's leading scorer managed only eight points.

Jessica Keckler scored 18 points and Tiara Maxon netted 14 for the Braves in the win.

Josey Johnson led the Crusaders, who had a four game winning streak snapped, with 12 points and Desirae Blacksmith chipped in 11.

CEB (8-3) will travel to play McLaughlin and Red Cloud (8-2) will visit Hot Springs in Tuesday games.

Newcastle 49, Douglas 44

NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - Newcastle held off a late scoring surge by Douglas to earn a 49-44 Abfaraka Conference victory in girls basketball action.

Douglas led 14-8 after the first and a big run at the end of the second put Newcastle within two at halftime. Newcastle led 37-35 after three.

Lindsey Branscom scored a team-high 12 points for Newcastle. Taylor Farella added 11 points, six assists and four steals.

Kelsey Scott netted a game-high 13 points for Douglas.

Newcastle (10-2, 3-1 ) hosts Torrington, Wyo., on Friday and Glenn Rock on Saturday.

Rosebud Shootout

MISSION - Kadoka Area held Lower Brule to only six points in the first half as the Kougars earned a 57-25 victory Saturday at the Rosebud Shootout.

Kadoka's Maria Herber led all scorers with 19 points. Tiffany Coleman netted 10 to pace Lower Brule.

Four players scored in double figures as Pine Ridge defeated Little Wound 56-32. Saadia Tasso led the team with 15 points; Lacey Weston netted 13, Sophia Janis added 11 and Keisha Brewer 10. Little Wound's Tawni Shay Hunter scored a team-high 13 points.

Shelby Hunger scored a game-high 20 points as Todd County overwhelmed St. Francis 71-52. Auriah Prue netted 17 for the Falcons. Kali Brave Jenkins and Marci Rodriguez scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, to pace St. Francis.

Janessa Bruguier's 21 points powered Marty Indian to a 55-32 victory over Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse was led by Kassy Randall with 14 points.

BOYS GAMES

Timber Lake 57, Harding County 37

TIMBER LAKE - Timber Lake toppled Harding County 57-37, as Troy Lindskov, Jace Long and C.J. Pesicka combined for 37 Panther points in the win.

Timber Lake rolled out to a 22-2 lead 8 minutes into the game and led 31-7 at the break.

Lindskov netted 14, Long added 12 and Pesicka had 11 for the Panthers.

Trent Turbiville and Jace Jenson scored nine points each for the Ranchers, who have lost seven in a row.

Timber Lake (5-2) will host Eureaka-Bowdle and Harding County (1-9) will host Bowman, N.D. in Monday games.

Tiospaye Topa 56, Lemmon 39

LaPLANT - Lucas Curley and R.J. LeBeau each scored 17 points as Tiospaye Topa surpassed Lemmon 56-39 in boys basketball action.

The Thunderhawks held a 26-19 lead at halftime and opened up a 41-28 deficit after three.

Tanner Gebhart paced the Cowboys with 15 points.

Lemmon (5-5 overall) hosts Hettinger, N.D., while Tiospaye Topa (5-2) travels to Dupree on Tuesday.

Bon Homme 67, Chamberlain 58

BON HOMME - Five players scored in double figures as Bon Homme won a gritty battle over Chamberlain 67-58 in a boys basketball game.

Bon Homme led 27-19 at the half and continued to pull away in the second half. The contest featured a total of 62 fouls and 84 free throws with seven players fouling out.

Joey Mann and Cody Tjeerdsma each netted 13 points to pace the Cavaliers. Derrik Dvoracek added 11 and Austin Koch and Tyler Van Winkle each scored 10.

Wade Hickey scored a game-high 24 points for the Cubs. Chamberlain (4-5) travels to Gregory on Tuesday.

Grand River 41, Scranton, N.D. 40

SCRANTON, N.D. - Kyle Ley scored 21 of Grand River's points as the Mustangs tripped Scranton 41-40.

All of Ley's points came from long range as he drilled seven 3-pointers.

Grand River (3-6) will play Harding County in Buffalo on Tuesday.
