Cross country: Three Kadoka runners place in top 5

Kadoka Area had three runners in the top five as the Kougar girls cross country team continued its winning ways at the Action Club Invitational in Highmore on Saturday.

Stanley County's Courtney Ziebart won the girls division with a 15 minute, 4 second clocking over the 4,000-meter course.

The Kougars' Abby Niehof, Tia Carlson and Shaley Harbor finished within 34 seconds of each other to finish 3-4-5.

As a team, Kadoka Area tallied 12 points to out-distance Hitchcock-Tulare who was second with 42 points.

Wessington Springs won the boys race as the Warriors went 1-2-3, led by Mitch Kraft's winning time of 17.46.

Philip placed second overall with 20 points as Kyle Iwan was the top Scottie with a time of 18:35. Zane Pekron, William Coyle and Anthony Iwan all finished in the top 11 for Philip.
