BROOKINGS - The South Dakota State volleyball team returns to the road, and to Summit League action, this weekend after spending the week recovering from a brutal three-game stretch that resulted in three straight Jackrabbit losses.

Xavier snapped the Jacks' 13-match win streak on Wednesday, IPFW snapped the six-match conference winning streak on Friday and Missouri State handed SDSU its first three-match losing streak of the season on Sunday.

Despite the losses, some good things did happen for the Jackrabbits last week. Junior Emily Rooney finished the match at Xavier on Wednesday with an .812 hitting percentage (13 kills, 0 errors, 16 attempts), which breaks the school record for hitting percentage in a match. Then on Friday at IPFW, senior Samantha Pearson passed Liz Archer (1,615 digs from 1998, 2000-02) for the all-time digs record at SDSU. Pearson added to her total on Sunday at Missouri State, and finished the week with 1,664 career digs.

The new week got off to a good start when senior Amy Anderson, who needs only 13 kills over the weekend to become the 12th member of the SDSU 1,000 kills club, was named The Summit League Player of the Month, and the Jackrabbits hope that luck continues when they take on Oral Roberts on Friday in Tulsa, Okla., and on Saturday when they take on Centenary in Shreveport, La.

First serve for both matches is scheduled for 7 p.m.

n This week, Amy Anderson earned The Summit League Women's Athlete of the Month honors after leading South Dakota State to a 15-3 record, including a 13-match winning streak, and a perfect 6-0 mark in league play during August and September.

Anderson broke the Jackrabbits all-time block assist record on Sept. 29 vs. University of Missouri-Kansas City and finished the month with 349 in her career. On Aug. 24, she posted a career-high 20 kills vs. Northern Colorado, and set a career-high with 10 block assists vs. North Dakota State on Sept. 16.
