CUSTER - Jake Roddy scored four goals, helping Custer to a 5-1 win Friday over James Valley Christian in boys nonconference soccer at Custer.

Luke Roddy tallied the other goal of the day for the Wildcats (2-0-1 overall). Luke Roddy, Sean Morrison and Jared Fischer all had assists on Jake Roddy's scores.

"Our defense was really solid," Custer head coach Craig Black said. "We really didn't give them any good looks."

Matt Kostelecky stopped 12 shots for Custer, who outshot James Valley Christian, 15-13.

The Wildcats return to action today, hosting Harrisburg.

Sturgis 9

Mitchell Christian 0

STURGIS - Jay Kizer led a potent offensive attack, scoring three goals and helping the Sturgis boys soccer team to a 9-0 win over Mitchell Christian on Friday in Sturgis.

The win keeps the Scoopers undefeated on the season at 3-0-0 overall.

"Mitchell Christian played all 90 minutes very well," Sturgis head coach Ralph Muhm said. "They had some great athletes and played very well."

Sturgis also got a pair of goals from Kurt Wilson and goals from Ethan Mathew, Nate Wilson, Justin Kessler and Logan Benke.

The Scoopers are in action, hosting Groton.

Freeman Academy 4

Douglas 0

RAPID CITY-Freeman Academy scored all its goals in the second half and went on to defeat Douglas 4-0 in boys non-conference soccer Friday night at Sioux Park.

Douglas (0-3) plays Vermillion today at 11 a.m. at Sioux Park.

Sioux Falls Lincoln 8

Rapid City Central 0

SIOUX FALLS - Sioux Falls Lincoln outshot Rapid City Central 21-5 on its way to an 8-0 drubbing of the Cobblers in boys nonconference soccer on Friday in Sioux Falls.

The Cobblers' Dan Evans made six saves in the loss.

Central (0-3-0 overall) is back in action today at Sioux Falls O'Gorman.

Rapid City Stevens 2

SIOUX FALLS - Bennett Medeck and Aaron Foss found the back of the net Friday, helping the Rapid City Stevens boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over Sioux Falls O'Gorman.

Medeck scored in 42nd minute off a throw-in and Foss scored on a one-on-one opportunity in the 90th minute. Jesse LaFramboise was credited with the assist.

The Raiders (1-2-0 overall) return to action today at Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Girls Soccer

St. Thomas More 6

Vermillion 0

RAPID CITY - Alli Gorder put St. Thomas More-Rapid City Christian up by one with a goal in the first minute and went on to finish with a hat trick as the Cavaliers shut out Vermillion 6-0 in a girls soccer match on Friday.

Vermillion was not only shut out, but had no shots on goal. The Cavaliers recorded 37 shots on goal.

Maria Gonzalez, Julia Nichols and Caitlin Duffy each scored a goal. Gonzalez and Lauren Jaeger each earned an assist on a Gorder goal.

The Cavaliers travel east next weekend to play West Central on Friday and Huron on Saturday.

Rapid City Stevens 2

Sioux Falls O'Gorman 1

SIOUX FALLS - Taylor Faulkner scored in the 89th minute, lifting the Rapid City Stevens girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Sioux Falls O'Gorman on Friday in Sioux Falls.

Faulkner recorded both Stevens (1-2-0 overall) goals on the day, scoring in the 50th minute on an assist from Ali Kinzley to tie the game at 1-1.

The Raiders, who outshot the Knights 24-11, return to action today at Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Rapid City Central 0

SIOUX FALLS - The Rapid City Central girls soccer team fell to 0-3-0 on the season, following a 1-0 loss to Sioux Falls Lincoln on Friday in girls nonconference soccer in Sioux Falls.

"I am very pleased with the way our team played tonight," Central head coach Mike Austin said.

The Cobblers are back in action today at Sioux Falls O'Gorman.
