RAPID CITY - Down 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth Post 22 needed a clutch hit.
With runners on second and third, Brock Estes lined a ball into the right-centerfield gap scoring two runs keeping the Post 22 rally alive. Steven Ficken followed suit with an RBI single. With the game tied, 5-5, 15-year-old Jake Bohne lined the go-ahead hit over the shortstops head to give Post 22 a 6-5 lead.
Post 22 held on to win, 7-5, over Las Vergas Durango in a game that came down to the very last hitter of the game Monday night at Fitzgerald Stadium.
The game was a seesaw affair from the beginning with Las Vegas Durango jumping out to an early
2-0 lead when clean-up hitter David Carroll singled in two runs in the first.
"We had a big crowd at the game tonight," said Post 22 coach Dave Ploof, "We started out slow defensively and had to come back, but we competed tough."
The game was over when…
Thane Lees struck out four in two innings, but a couple of Post 22 errors gave life back to Las Vegas. Down two going into that last frame, Las Vegas had runners on second and third with no one out. Lees then struck out the next two batters, and retired the last batter of the game on a fly ball.

Co-MVPs: Thane Lees, and Brock Estes. Lees threw a perfect last two innings to earn the save, and Estes had three key RBI in the game.

Sam Wolff and Steven Ficken both had two hits for Post 22, while Mike Stiles went 3-for-3 at the plate for Las Vegas.
