RAPID CITY - Chris Flack's otherwise impressive racing resume' had a gaping hole in it until Friday night at Black Hills Speedway.

Flack, a 21-year-old from Rapid City, has been successful in kart racing at Rapid City's Heartland Speedway and elsewhere, tallying a third and fourth at last weekend's International Karting Federation Nationals in Huron.

But his foray into full-size Wissota Super Stockers at BHS has been beset with teething pains.

It all finally came together for him Friday night. Starting on the front row, Flack guarded the favored inside line like a veteran, holding off point-leader Mike Jager of Rapid City and the wounded No. 18R of Sturgis' Kevin Aga for his first-ever feature win.

"We finally got all the bugs out. It's taken us two years, motor problems and all kinds of stuff. We wrecked it a couple weeks ago and finally got it back together," said Flack, beaming in victory lane. "This feels good, really good."

Aga finished minus the driver's side body work after getting the worst of a late-race tangle on the backstretch also involving Shawn Pudwill and Mike Kress.

Pudwill was fourth with Ken Rose fifth.

In the 360 Sprint division finale, Sturgis' Ron Rosenboom was both lucky and good, his No. 30 working well enough on a tough passing track to move up to second spot.

Darrell Brink of Rapid City was also good, powering away at the start and seemingly headed for a big-margin win.

But his luck ran out on the last lap when the left rear tire on the Wurl-Hopkins No. 90 suddenly disintegrated.

Brink tried to nurse the stricken machine home, but driveline and suspension damage from the flailing rubber tire halted the car one turn short of the finish.

Rosenboom swept past for his second win of the year.

"It took me long enough to get up there, but the car was good tonight," Rosenboom said. "It's fun. That's why we still do this."

Brink, credited with 10th, pointed out where the flapping tire had scuffed paint and chewed away roll bar padding perilously close to the driver's cockpit of his car.

"I'm glad it didn't hook my arm," he said. "We'll just have to get 'em next week."

"Super" Dave Muller's heady move to the inside on the first corner paid off with his fourth Mini-Sprint feature victory of the season.

Starting on the outside of the second row, Muller outmaneuvered front-row starters Paul Olson and Jeff Mount for the lead.

Once free of traffic, Muller extended the gap on Olson and point leader John Garrigan, Jr.

"I tried that move on a restart and it worked," Muller said. "This car is always good on the inside."

Kyle's Louis Vocu drove his Marty Brave-prepared No. L77 Monte Carlo to another Wissota Street Stock feature win, but he said his thoughts were with his aunt, Loretta Bull Bear, who died earlier Friday at Kyle.

"This is a pretty sad day for our family," he said. "I almost didn't race tonight, but they said I should be here, so I'd like to dedicate this win to her."

Vocu recovered from an early spin to outrun Vince Comer of Rapid City and Warhoop Racing teammate Mark Brave's No. 66, also prepared by Marty Brave.

Tony Leiker of Gillette broke away from a pack of cars to claim his second Wissota Modified main event win of the season.

Chad Horst turned the tables on heat winner Beth Kirchoff of Gillette to pick up a wide-margin win in the Limited Late Model division, featuring cars all powered by General Motors 400 cubic-inch factory-sealed engines, called "crate" motors.

Next Friday night sees the only appearance this year of the American Sprint Car Series' Rocky Mountain Region 360 sprint cars.
