Little League: Parade, escort await All-Stars

RAPID CITY - The first team from South Dakota to ever qualify for and play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa., will return home Thursday to a police escort and be the stars of a parade on Saturday.

The team will then be honored with a parade through downtown Rapid City at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The Canyon Lake All-Stars, who played three games at the Series late last week and early this week before being eliminated from the 16-team field, will arrive at Rapid City Reginal Airport before 1:30 p.m. today.

From the airport, the team and coaches will have a police escort to the Canyon Lake Little League Complex, where there will be a celebration from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Members of the community who want to visit with the players, coaches and staff about their experience at this year's Little League World Series.
