PIERRE - Kadoka Area placed four girls in the top 10 as the Kougars won the girls' team title at the Pierre Invitational Cross Country meet at Hillsview Golf Course on Thursday.
Abby Neihoff led the team with a fourth-place finish in 15 minutes, 8 seconds. Tia Carlson followed in fifth. Shaley Herber and Alex Smiley took seventh and eighth, respectively for the Kougars.
Pierre's Bridget Simmons won the race in a time of 14:27 and teammate Jamie Chalcraft took second. Todd County's Lottie Grimshaw finished third.
Kadoka tallied 24 points to win. Chamberlain took second with 47 points and Todd County rounded out the top three with 50.
