RAPID CITY - The Officials, a committee of the Rapid City Sports Council, will meet tonight at 5:45 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room at the King Center on the South Dakota School of Mines campus.

The general public, old coaches, new coaches and individuals interested in the sports scene in Rapid City are invited to attend.

The Officials mission statement is: Preserving the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame and supporting sports in Rapid City.

Anyone that can relate to this mission is invited to attend. The program for this meeting will center around SDSM&T coaches and club activities for the year. Food and refreshments will be served.

Central to conduct

raffle for skyboxes

RAPID CITY - The Rapid City Central activities department will be conducting a raffle for seating in the skybox suites at O'Harra Stadium at the home Cobbler football games during the 2008 football season. Tickets may be purchased from Central activities participants or at the Central High School activities office.

The cost of the raffle ticket is $10. The Skybox Suite Package includes six game tickets, food and beverage in the skybox, comfortable seating, flat screen TV, private restrooms and a great view of the game.

The raffle will be good for the following Cobbler home games: Friday versus Aberdeen Central, Sept. 6 versus Sturgis (Rushmore Bowl), Sept. 26 versus Sioux Falls Lincoln (homecoming) and Oct. 17 versus Sioux Falls O'Gorman.

Drawings will take place on Thursday of each home game week. There will be three skyboxes available for the drawing per home game. Winners can pick up their skybox package on the Friday of game day from the Central High School activities office.

Cordes, Jacobson and Thompson win state titles

SIOUX FALLS - Bicycle races from six states decorated the downtown streets of Sioux Falls this past weekend for the State Criterium Championship Race. Racers from the Black Hills came home with three gold medals as state champions.

Betsy Cordes won the women's overall by winning the category 1-2-3 race to give her the state crown. Tedd Jacobson, of Rapid City, placed third in the men's 3-4 masters category. The first and second place finishers were not from South Dakota so Tedd earned the state champion title. Becca Thompson, of Rapid City, won the girls junior division giving her the junior state title.

Eagles' game to be Webcast

CHADRON, Neb. - The Chadron State College and University of Mary football game on Thursday in Bismarck, N.D., will be Webcast on www.NorthernSun.tv free of charge. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., MDT.

The game is the season-opener for both teams. The Eagles won 21-3 when the teams met in 2006.
