DEADWOOD - Mean Street Boxing Club, in association with the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce, presents Northern Hills Night at the Fights on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 and 23 at the Pavilion in Deadwood.
The two day event will feature the USA Boxing WYMONDAK Regional tournament and state boxing champions from South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. Competitors are vying for a spot in the U.S. National Championships at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in March.
Rapid City's Andre Penn, an airman from Ellsworth Air Force Base, will box for the South Dakota team. Penn, the 2007 all-Air Force champion at 152 pounds, will compete in the 165-pound weight class.
Tickets for the event will be available at the door the night of the fights, or in advance at the Silverado/Franklin Casino, the Gold Dust Casino, the Saloon No. 10, or Dakota Gulch Casino in Deadwood and Papa John's Pizza in Spearfish.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and bouts start at 7 p.m. on both nights. More ticket information can be obtained by calling the Deadwood Chamber at 578-1876.
