PIERRE - Post 22 wrapped up a perfect 4-0 holiday weekend by sweeping a doubleheader with Pierre on Monday 13-9 and 6-1.

Post 22 found itself down 7-0 after just two innings in the opener before rallying for the win. The hardhats got the job done with four runs in both the fourth and sixth inning, and put the game away with three more runs in the seventh.

Post 22 pounded out 13 hits getting three from Dana Hill and two from Jordan Mette.

Mette, who just joined the team this weekend, had another big day. He collected five hits in the two games after getting four against Scottsbluff, Neb. on Sunday.

Jacob Johnson relieved starter Jarrett Jensen in the fourth inning and picked up the win as he allowed just one run on one hit.

The Post 22 offense didn't need to be as potent in the second game as three pitchers combined to hold Pierre to just one run on six hits.

Sam Wolff picked up the win pitching three innings allowing four hits and striking out two for Post 22.

Offensively, Mette had three hits and Steven Ficken had two hits and drove in three runs. Ficken ended the day with eight RBI after driving in five in the opener.

Post 22 pounded out 26 hits in the two games to keep Pierre on its heels much of the day.

The final margin could have even been wider in the second game for Post 22, but it left 12 runners on base in the game.

The two wins improved the team's record to 7-1 on the season as it prepares to play Billings, Mont. at Fitzgerald Stadium on Saturday.
