SIOUX FALLS - Despite some first half errors, Sioux Falls Washington posted a 35-0 win over Rapid City Stevens on Friday night during high school football action.

Washington outgained the Raiders 364-131 and led 28-0 early in the second quarter.

Stuart Augustine completed 10 of 16 passes, spreading out those connections to four receivers - including tight ends Matt Haight and Quentin McMartin.

"The thing that Stu's doing right now is reading the coverage and not just looking for a particular receiver," Warriors coach Brian Hermanson said.

"We've got some big targets, and they're running their routes hard and taking great pride in blocking for each other. Our offensive line also gave Stu plenty of time to throw."

From Friday's early stages, it looked like Washington was trying to match Roosevelt's 42-point first-quarter explosion against the Raiders on Sept. 21.

The Warriors did most of the damage off Stevens miscues, including a blocked punt by Tim Marlette that put Washington in business at the Stevens 27.

Blake Berke, who rushed 15 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns, found daylight for a first-down dash and scored on a 2-yard run to put the Warriors up 7-0 with 6:13 left in the first quarter.

After the Raiders (2-5) went three and out, Washington went to the air as Augustine found McMartin for an 84-yard TD to make it 14-0 at the 4:24 mark of the first quarter.
