DEADWOOD - Stockton Graves of Newkirk, Okla., leads steer wrestling and three cowboys share the lead in tie-down roping after the first round of timed events slack during Wednesday's Days of '76 Rodeo in Deadwood.

Graves clocked a 3.4 to lead steer wrestling. Curt LaDuke of Bozeman, Mont., and Interior's Dustin Harvey are tied for second with a 3.6 second clocking.

Hunter Cure, of Holliday, Texas, and Casey Martin, of Sulphur, La., are tied for fourth at 3.7 seconds, with Tim Kemp, of Stony Plain, Alberta, Jack Hodges, of Stephenville, Texas, and Barton Slaney, of Mandan, N.D., at 3.9.

In tie-down roping, Chad Dickey, of Huntsville, Texas, Dillon Kjerstad, of Quinn, and Cimarron Boardman, of Stephenville, Texas, are in a three-way knot atop the standings after Wednesday's first go-round, all clocking 9.1 times.

Paul Tierney, of Oral, trails the leaders at 9.3, with La Duke at 9.4 and Trent Turner of Teague, Texas, in at 9.5.

Action ramps up today at the rodeo grounds. Timed events slack continues at 8 a.m., with barrel racing slack set for noon.

The first of two PRCA Twilight Rodeo performances is tonight at 6 p.m., with a second twilight performance set for Friday at 6 p.m.

The historic three-mile long Days of '76 parade is at 1:30 p.m. Friday and repeated at 10 a.m. Saturday.
