The Edgemont boys' basketball team won the rubber match with Hay Springs, Nebraska, on Thursday, holding on for a 54-48 victory.

Hay Springs won the first game the two teams played by three points in the Panhandle Tournament, before the Moguls came back for a win in Hay Springs last week and Thursday's victory.

Dalton Reutter had a big game by hitting all six of his 3-point attempts for 18 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds and had three steals. Caleb Simons added 16 points and nine rebounds for Edgemont and Kaleb Darrow had seven points and seven assists, while Ryan Simons scored second points and had seven rebounds and three steals.

Trent Reed led Hay Springs with 28 points, 14 in the fourth quarter.

Edgemont, 4-10, will be at Moorcroft, Wyoming, Saturday.

HILL CITY 70, NEWELL 36: The Rangers jumped out to a 44-18 halftime lead and never looked back for the win over the Irrigators.

Chase Simmons topped a balanced Hill City attack with 19 points, followed by Jacob Harris with 13 points and five assists. Jack Cuttler finished with 13 points and Taylor Edwards added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Payton Burtzlaff led Newell with 12 points.

Hill City, 10-6, is at Rapid City Christian Saturday, while Newell, 8-8, is at Timber Lake Feb. 9.

RAPID CITY CHRISTIAN 49, KADOKA AREA 41: The Comets led by 12 heading into the fourth before holding off the Kougars.

Zane Schlabach led the way for Rapid City Christian with 23 points and eight rebounds, with Ethan Wipf adding eight points.

Abe Herber led Kadoka Area with seven points.

The Comets, 12-1, host Hill City Saturday, while the Kougars, 6-9, are at Wall tonight.

DOUGLAS 79, HOT SPRINGS 57: The Patriots rolled to the Black Hills Conference win over the Bison.

STURGIS 53, SPEARFISH 12: The Scoopers had four pin falls and two major decisions in stopping the Spartans.

Earning pin fall victories for the Scoopers were Kelton Olson (106 pounds), Bailey Brengle (152), Joel Carpenter (220) and Clayton Smith (285).

Max Sailor of Spearfish earned a pin at 132 pounds.

RAPID CITY CENTRAL 63, GILLETTE 18: The Cobblers earned their 20th dual win of the season with the dominant victory over the Camels.
