The Rapid City Rush spent the first part of the week making moves to their roster, as they try to get out of last place in the mountain division of the ECHL

Over the weekend the Rush traded Alex Guptill to Allen for forward Dan Leavens. Guptill has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 17 games this season for the Rush while Leavens has nine points in 19 games this season for Allen.

Monday the Rush released Marcus Ortiz, who registered seven points in 20 games this season with plus/minus of -10. The Rush also traded Jimmy DeVito, who was fifth on the team in points with 15 in 21 games, to the Reading Royals for future considerations.

Tuesday the moves continued for Rapid City, as it signed forward Tyler Deresky. After spending four years playing for the AHA's Bentley University, he has played 14 games for the SPHL's Evansville Thunderbolts where he recorded 11 points (six goals, five assists).

Newly acquired Darian Dziurzynski was also traded to the Indy Fuel Tuesday for future considerations. Dziurzynski has five points this season in time split between Rapid City and the Toledo Walleye in 18 games. In eight games with the Rush he had a goal and an assist along with a plus/minus of -10.

Rapid City (7-18-0-0) is last in the mountain division with 14 points. It will look to snap an eight-game losing streak when it begins a three-game series tonight with the Idaho Steelheads (16-8-3-1, 36 points).

The puck drops at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center at 7:05 p.m.
