The Rapid City Rush ended its road trip on a high note, as a Peter Sivak goal to start the third period to top the Utah Grizzlies 3-1.

Riley Weselowski got the scoring started with his first goal of the season off assists from Alex Kromm and Anthony Collins. The goal came 14:41 into the period and would be the only goal of the first period.

Both goalies performed well throughout, as Utah's Angus Redmond stopped 29 shots on 31 attempts. Rapid City's Adam Vay was even better, stopping 36 shots on 37 attempts.

The only goal Vay gave up came 17:33 into the second period when Austin Ortega scored his third goal of the season off assists from Kyle Thomas and former Rush player Ryan Walters.

The game didn't stay tied long, as only 27 seconds into the final period Sivak lit the lamp for the 10th time this season on assists from Ian Brady and Gustav Bouramman.

The goal was a power play goal scored when Chase Lang and Thomas got into a fight, but Thomas was also given two minutes for roughing.

Rapid City put the cherry on top of its 11th win of the season with a empty net goal scored by Tyler Deresky, his second on the season. Kenton Miller and Weselowski assisted on the goal.

The win moves Rapid City to 11-23-2-0 on the season with 24 points. Utah falls to 14-16-5-3 with 36 points.

The Rush are back in action Friday when it opens a three-game series with Utah.
