Two South Dakota School of Mines athletes earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference athlete of the week awards Monday.

Enis Sefa, the kicker for the Hardrocker football team, won special teams player of the week and women's basketball guard Cooper Courtney won offensive player of the week.

Sefa was a perfect 5-for-5 in Mines' 35-26 win against Western State Saturday, and is 26-for-26 this season on extra points while filling in for the injured all-RMAC kicker Robbie Jo Gerarden. He is also third on the team with 47 points this season.

"Enis has stepped up and produced for the team when we need him to," Mines coach Zach Tinker said in a release from Mines athletics. "He's a great example of dedication to his team and his craft."

Mines finished the season 5-6.

Courtney has gotten off to a hot start for the Hardrockers, scoring 45 points in two wins against Eastern New Mexico and Texas-Permian Basin over the weekend at the Conference Cross-over Classic in Durango, Colo.

"I'm really excited for Cooper to be honored by the RMAC as player of the week. It's a well-deserved honor," Mines coach Ryan Larsen said in the release. "Cooper had a tremendous weekend offensively and her teammates did a great job of getting her the ball. Besides scoring, Cooper made plenty of other plays that didn't show up on the stat sheet."

Courtney scored nine points against Eastern New Mexico and 36 against Texas-Permian Basin, when she went 11-17.
