The Custer wrestling team earned a pair of wins as it traveled to Douglas to take on the Patriots and Chadron, Nebraska in a triangular on Thursday afternoon.
The Wildcats opened the day with a 43-21 victory over Chadron, before picking up a 51-30 win over Douglas later in the day.
Chadron finished the day with one win as it defeated the Patriots 45-24.
Individually, Brennan Hanes had a big day for the Wildcats at 132 pounds as he dropped Daniel Wellnitz of Chadron and Sal Centore of Douglas.
Levi Mines also had a pair of wins for Custer, including a pinfall victory over Ozzy Fernau of Chadron and a fall victory over Ryan Wright of Douglas.
Next up, the Wildcats and Patriots will compete in the Belle Fourche Invitational starting today at noon.
BELLE FOURCHE 54, HOT SPRINGS 29: Belle Fourche jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back as it cruised past Hot Springs on Thursday.
The Broncs had no trouble from the outset as Thomas McCoy (106 pounds), Oakley Blakeman (113) and Jett Blakeman (120) gave their team the early 18-0 advantage.
Belle Fourche would go on to win the next six matches to put the dual away.
Both teams will be back at it today as the Broncs host the Belle Fourche Invitational starting at noon.
HILL CITY 68, WALL 42: Hill City snapped a two-game losing skid as it ran past Wall on Thursday night.
Jac Cutler led the way for the Rangers with 19 points, while Taylor Edwards had 18 points and eight rebounds.
Noah Krull chipped in with 13 points for Hill City.
Damion Bresee paced the Eagles with nine points.
The Rangers (9-5) will play at Hot Springs today at 7:30 p.m., while Wall (5-6) is at Lyman on Saturday.
DOUGLAS 65, CUSTER 34: The Patriots earned their ninth win of the season with a victory over Custer on Thursday.
Sam Hand led Douglas with 16 points and Darius Dawson finished with 10.
Nolan Patzlaff led the Wildcats with 11 points.
The Patriots (9-4) will travel to Chadron on Saturday, while Custer (3-10) plays Rapid City Christian today at 7:30 p.m.
CUSTER 70, DOUGLAS 60: Custer outscored Douglas 26-12 in the second quarter en route to its second win in a row on Thursday.
Tori Glazier had a big day for the Lady Wildcats as she scored 29 points while pulling in 17 rebounds.
Mckenzie Becker chipped in with 26 points for Custer.
Jordynn Toliver paced the Patriots with 22 points; Jeslyn Jindra added 16 points and Chantell Jones finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Wildcats (8-5) will play at Rapid City Christian today at 6 p.m., while Douglas (3-9) travels to Chadron on Saturday.
MARTY 66, CRAZY HORSE 40: Apollonia Zephier scored 21 points as she led the Lady Braves past Crazy Horse at the Dakota Oyate Challenge in Huron on Thursday.
Lainey Honomichl added 13 points for Marty and Jilian Rank tallied nine.
Deidre Roberts paced the Lady Chiefs with 21 points, while Sequioa Bettelyoun finished with 13.
The Lady Braves (4-8) and Crazy Horse (2-10) will continue play in Huron today at a time to be determined.
