For 80 years, the Abbott House has provided children to young adults with a second chance at youth—a place of hope and recovery for those who have suffered trauma and abuse. Abbott House and Bridges by Abbott House programs give young people another chance to turn the abuse and victimization of their past into experiences they live with, but that do not overwhelm their lives. Without help now, many of these young people perpetuate the cycle of violence and punish themselves indefinitely for the tragedy that was placed on their shoulders. Abbott House strives to provide premier services for youth and their families. But... the program cannot accommodate all those who need it. That’s why the Abbott House is building TWO additional Therapeutic Foster Homes right here in Rapid City, but we need your help to finish it. PROJECT: Building Bridges of Hope and Healing 3 MILLION PROJECT $ Please, Help Us Finish Building: • One house for six boys ages 10 to 17 • One house for six girls ages 10 to 17 These homes will provide expanded “close to home” foster care to area children and their families. Each home will also include two apartments, providing an independent living option for a total of eight young adults: • Two 2-bedroom apartments for young women, 18 to 23 years of age in one home • Two 2-bedroom apartments for young men, 18 to 23 years of age in the second home Please Help Us by Donating to the Black Hills Bridges Capital Campaign Visit Us Online: AbbottHouse.org/Building-Bridges Call: 605-996-2486 ext. 120 Everyone needs a place to call home.
