Chip Book

At left is the book written and compiled by local author Doris Powers Lauing. Powers Lauing, at right, lives east of Sturgis and believed the history and photos from The Legendary Buffalo Chip would make a good coffee table book.

A Sturgis area woman has written a book chronicling 30 years of the Buffalo Chip.

Local author Doris Powers Lauing said she researched archives and chose more than 600 photos compiled by Rod Woodruff; owner operator of the Chip, the Chip's photographer Aaron Packard and the Buffalo Chip staff. She put them all in a 200-page book now available.
