The first-ever Grey Eagle Warrior Challenge in Chadron will be Sept. 30 to benefit scholarships for veterans and active military members at Chadron State College and the Nebraska Mid-America Honor Flight based out of Dawes County. The challenge will allow individuals to test their skills on four military-inspired obstacles. The course starts at the motor cross track and ends at the Dawes County Fairgrounds.
The event is open to teams of four, but all team members must be 17 or older. Registration is $120 per team, which includes a meal ticket and t-shirt for each member. Pre-register online at www.runreg.com. Late registration will be available the day of the race at 7:30 a.m., with the race scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to come out and watch the challenge and join the competitors for a meal at the Dawes County Fairgrounds afterwards. The meal will be served from noon to 2 p.m. and is $10 per person for non-competitors.
