The Chadron Area Special Olympics basketball team traveled to Scottsbluff Saturday, February 22 to compete in the West Region basketball tournament. They competed against teams in Scottsbluff and Torrington. They earned first place in their division and the unified team also earned first place in their division.

Members of the team are: Ben Fistler, Tianna Rose, Orlando Camaigo-Luz, Bastian Barnes, Jacob Hanks, Paul Kruger, Russell Moore, Robbie Straw. Unified team members were: Jarod Nicholson, Concey Bader, Shelby Mathson, and Dalton Gass.

The Chadron Area Special Olympics team would like to say a Great Big Thank You to everyone that participated in our Polar Plunge on the 29th. It was a lot of fun and we appreciate everyone raising money for our team. We had a great turn out and a lot of people were “Be Bold and Got Cold”.

The team is now practicing powerlifting, track and swimming. Our next competition is April 18 in Chadron. We will host the regional swim meet and track meet. Anyone wishing to volunteer is asked to email: Connie Moore at crmoor4@gmail.com.
