HOT SPRINGS-The Hot Springs Bison fell to the Saint Thomas More Cavaliers on Friday night in Hot Springs.
More jumped out to an early lead, scoring a passing touchdown in the first quarter. After missing the two-point conversion, the Cavs lead 0-6 going into the second quarter.
Again, More scored a passing touchdown, and after the successful two-point conversion were up 0-14. The bison were able to respond with a 39 yard touchdown pass from Morgan Harkless to Norton, bringing the Bison to within seven. Shortly before halftime, More scored another passing touchdown putting themselves up 7-21.
The third quarter was scoreless for both teams. In the fourth quarter, Harkless was able to scramble for a 28 yard touchdown run, bringing the Bison within one score again. The deficit proved to be too much for the Bison to overcome. The game ended with a More victory, 14-21 over Hot Springs.
On the loss, Head Coach Ben Kramer said, "Very disappointing loss. No excuses, (we) didn’t take advantage of the opportunities we had."
The Bison will take on the Douglas Patriots in Box Elder this Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Patriots are winless so far this season.
