Fall River Gun Club
Fall River Gun Club members will receive exclusive use of the local gun range during certain times under a new memorandum of understanding.
The gun club and the South Dakota Game and Fish agency have signed an agreement that will grant Fall River Gun Club members exclusive access two days per week all year long. Gun club members will be the only shooters allowed on the first Sunday and the following Monday of each month, as well as each Monday and Tuesday during the subsequent weeks of the month.
The new agreement will go into effect Oct. 15, and signage will be posted at the gun club to remind public users. Contact Dan Harley, Fall River Gun Club president, at 605-440-2012 for more information or with questions.
The United churches will resume spaghetti supper on October 18 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.The Barely Used Boutique will also be open during the same hours.
SHCRI Gymnastics Winter Classes
Gymnastics classes are from November at the Mueller Center in Hot Springs and run into February. Classes for ages 3 through 14. Welcome New instructor Christy Richardson with competition experience. Amateur Radio License
The Hot Springs Amateur Radio Volunteer Examiners will be giving tests for the radio amateur licenses on Saturday, October 13, 2018 ant the Hot Springs Public Library. Testing starts at ten o'clock. Cost is $15. Candidates please remember to bring photo ID and a photocopy of any prior amateur radio operator's license. Call 745-5929 for more information.
Chautauqua Artisans Marketplace
Chautauqua Artisans Marketplace is delighted to present its newest art show by artist Trisha Blair. This artist has a passion and talented gift for creating 3D images out of leather. The show will be on display from September 11th - November 9th. The gallery & store are located across from the Train Depot at 629 N. River Street. Chautauqua BH Craftsmen & Artisans is a 501c3 nonprofit organization supporting the arts and art education.”
Hot Springs Area Concert Association
The Hot Springs Area Concert Association opens the 2018-19 season with a journey back to America’s greatest songs of the 60’s. William Florian, folk singer and guitarist, will be at the Mueller Civic Center, Tues., Oct. 9th, at 7:30 PM.
Please join William Florian, former singer of the New Christy Minstrels, for Those Were the Days. Enjoy the spirit, songs and humor of the 60’s as William sings, tells stories and promotes the fun of the Minstrels, Peter Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger, and the Mamas and the Papas. William will also present a special tribute to John Denver and his music, plus intimate compositions of his own.

Southern Hills Community Theatre
Southern Hills Community Theatre presents "Eclipsed" an interactive, comedy-murder mystery dinner theatre by Lisa Patrick-Wilkinson at Woolly's Grill and Cellar on October 19, 20 and 21, 2018. Doors open at 5:30, social at 6:00pm and Prime Rib meal and performance at 7:00pm nightly. Tickets are $40.00 for singles/$75.00 for couples.
Fall Hours at The Mammoth Site Beginning September 1, 2018
The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, SD Inc. is announcing its fall hours starting September 1-October 31, 2018.
The fall hours will be 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily and the last tour will be at 4:00 p.m. each day.
Cold Springs Historical Society
Cold Springs Historical Society will meeting on Sunday, October 14th for their annual Thanksgiving potluck and meeting.
The members of the Historical Society will have their final meeting of 2018 at 12:30 pm. There will be a short business meeting, followed by a potluck dinner.
The Society was created in 1965 and boasts members from many different states. It continues to carry out the goals of preserving the 1887 log school house, as well as the neighboring cemetery. It also works to educate people on the history of both.
Meetings are open to the public. Visitors are welcomed. Please bring a potluck dish to pass around. Table settings and drinks are provided. The Cold Springs School and Pioneer Cemetery are located at the intersection of Custer County roads 391 and 336 (Beaver Creek Road and Flynn Creek Road).
Christmas in the Hills... 'A Gingerbread Christmas'
'A Gingerbread Christmas is only a few months away. It begins on the evening of November 30 and ends lat on the afternoon of December 2. This year's Christmas In the Hills committee is seeking volunteers to join in planning this annual event. Keep Hot Springs Beautiful Annual Meeting—Keep Hot Springs Beautiful (KHSB) will have its annual meeting on Saturday, November 4, at Red Rock River Resort, 3rd floor. A social hour/cash bar begins at 6 PM followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 PM and program at 7:00 PM. Grief Support Group
Open to anyone dealing with Loss and Grief is held at the Hot Springs Public Library, 2006 Library Drive on the second Friday of every Month from 12:00 to 1:30. If Library is closed due to holiday, group will meet on third Friday.
2018 dates include: October 12th, *November 16th, and December 14th.
