CUSTER- The Hot Springs Boys Golf Team competed in the Region 4 Golf Championship held on the Rocky Knolls Golf Course in Custer Monday, September 24.
Schools entered included: Red Cloud, Custer, Hot Springs, Belle Fourche, Lead/Deadwood, Pine Ridge, ST.Thomas More and Little Wound.
Custer captured the Region 4 crown with a four person 18 hole score of 348, second was Hot Springs-385, third-STM-405, fourth Little Wound-449 and fifth-Lead/Deadwood-451.
The top three teams along with the top 60% of golfers advance to the State Golf Meet in Dell Rapids on October 1 and 2.
The Region 4 medalist honors went to Little Wound’s Lance Christensen with a 18 hole score of 83, second-Custer’s Austin Eggers-84, third-STM’s Carter Janssen-85, fourth-Custer’s Dylan Polzine-86 and fifth-STM’s Cade Kandolin-87.
Hot Springs was led by Mason VanBibber-90(eight place), Jacob Harris-92(tenth place), Zane Cope-99(twelfth place), Modes Kerr-104(14th place) and Hayden VanBibber-114(nineteenth place).
Hot Springs along with the runner-up plaque, qualified all five golfers individually for the State Meet.
This score is a seasons best for the team as well as seasons best for Mason, Zane, Modes and Hayden, Jacob had one lower score this season. A good time to shoot well! Good job to these young men!
We head to the State meet on September 30 at 0 dark 30 and play a practice round in the early afternoon.
