To the Editor:
One item before I start the main reason for my letter.
Look at all the states that are suffering major droughts and ask yourself if we want to take a chance with uranium mining here. When you vote, make sure you know what politicians are for mining and vote them out.
I, like most people in our country, am very upset about problems with the VAs and the blame game as usual being played. We made a promise as a country to care for our vets. This means more VAs, more nurses and doctors and people to help with PTSD and that means money.
I do not see how we can call ourselves a Veterans Town and be a Republican town both. The GOP voted No to build 27 new VAs and extend their healthcare.
February 22, 2014, the GOP voted No to a veterans health and education bill. Vets lost $22 billion of support on that vote.

The GOP has cut veterans’ pensions, while leaving tax loopholes for big corporations untouched.
Thune and Noem come here spouting their support and vote No each time.
Also, our Governor won’t expand Medicaid. I wonder if you older people going into assisted living or nursing homes realize it cost $4,000 per month and up and when your life savings are gone, you sleep on the street or go on Medicaid, if there’s any money there.
The days of voting a straight ticket should be over!
