The Revitalize Belle Fourche committee has selected its 2017 Best Christmas Lights Contest winners. Thirteen homes were nominated, with some homes receiving multiple nominations.
“There were so many beautiful homes this year that decisions were tough to make,” said committee chairwoman Kristi Thielen. “But we love the fact that the community responded so whole-heartedly to this contest.”
The first-place winner and the recipient of a $50 gift card is Carrie Allen, for her home at 1703 Eighth Ave. The Allen home, at the top of a hill, is visible from many points in Belle Fourche, and the colorful, musical light décor is accented by a towering snowman.
The second-place winner and the recipient of a $40 gift card is Martina Hartwell, at 612 Janet St. The carousel-like roofline of the house has been outlined with lights; this and the décor in surrounding trees can be viewed from both front and back of the home.
The third-place winner and the recipient of a $30 gift card is Shawn Donovan, at 1216 11th Ave. This home opted for distinctive red and white color scheme, on display around the home and in the yard where a statuesque tree is filled with 750 red and white lights.
