SPEARFISH | The 25th anniversary of the Matthews Opera House and Arts Center’s Holiday High Tea will take place in December, and ticket sales for the event start at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.

This year’s Holiday High Tea will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the Opera House theater, a press release said. Attendees will be able to enjoy afternoon tea in fine china as well as savory and sweet high-tea food. Mulled wine can be purchased at the event.

Each table will employ china and a centerpiece from a community member, with some centerpieces later available in a raffle, and artwork from local artists will be available in a silent auction.

“I love the Holiday High Tea. It not only brings friends together to enjoy the tea, but also the many volunteers who assist with the event by preparing cookies and tea sandwiches, decorating the tables with their holiday china, and serving during the tea,” The Matthews Executive Director Sian Young said in the press release. “Whether sitting at a table or in our kitchen area loading cookie trays, everyone is having fun.”

Tickets will be $30 apiece and can be purchased at the Arts Center, at matthewsopera.com, or by calling 642-7973. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 5.
