Sugarland will perform at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City on June 22, according to a Tuesday news release.
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, who make up the award-winning duo, announced their return to the stage with the "Still The Same" tour, which kicks off in May in the U.S.
The announcement is good new for fans of the duo, which started in 2002 and put out seven No. 1 singles before taking a hiatus in 2012. Five years later, the duo reconnected. Their new single, "Still the Same," was released in December, and they performed together for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve televised special.
“We are thrilled to head back out on the road together as this has been a long time coming for the both of us!” Nettles said in the release. “And to have Brandy, Clare, Frankie and Lindsay join us will make our return really special.”
“Can’t wait to get back out there and share our new music with the best fans on earth!” Bush wrote. “It will be great to hear everyone singing the old favorites along with us all summer.”
With a typically upbeat style and anchored by Nettles' distinctive lead vocals, Sugarland's hits include "Stay," "Stuck Like Glue," "Baby Girl," "Everyday America" and "It Happens."
The first leg of the tour will feature opening acts Brandy Clark and Clare Bowen, while Frankie Ballard and Lindsay Ell open for the second half.
Their tour will include multiple stops throughout the region, including the Denny Sanford Premiere Center in Sioux Falls on Aug. 16;, as well as Bismarck, N.D., on June 23; Omaha, Neb., on June 28; Grand Island, Neb., on Aug. 25; St. Paul, Minn., on Aug. 24; Des Moines, Iowa, on Aug. 17. Their full tour schedule is available at sugarlandmusic.com.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Starting today, fans in select cities can purchase VIP packages, which includes an opportunity to meet Sugarland, attend a pre-show VIP sound check and access to exclusive tour lithographs.
