PERFORMANCES 

Feb. 9-11: "Rabbit Hole." Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. Winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 and 10 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Black Hills Community Theatre, 601 Columbus St., Rapid City. 

Feb. 9-10: "Rent." A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, "Rent" follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters — love. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9-10 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Fine Arts Theatre of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Tickets are $47.50 to $57.50 and available at gotmine.com

Thursdays until April 26: History & Hops Trivia Nights. The Journey Museum and Learning Center is introducing History & Hops Trivia Nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Joe Rovere|Minnilusa Pioneer Room on the second floor of the museum. 

Feb. 10, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Chocopalooza, John T. Vucurevich Event Center in the Dahl Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $5.

GALLERIES

Until Feb. 16: "The Mining Aesthetic," featuring photographs, drawings and artifacts by Montana artist Glenn Bodish. Apex Gallery on the campus of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Rapid City. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.

Until March: "The Road Ahead," traveling art exhibition showcasing work of people with developmental disabilities, Suzie Cappa Art Center, 722 St. Joseph in Rapid City.

Until March 31: Dakotas photography show. A new exhibit in the Inez & Milton Shaver Gallery at the Dahl Arts Center in downtown Rapid City showcases photographs from 30 different photographers with a connection to the Dakotas. The show is made up of one image from each of the 30 artists and varies from digital prints to more traditional chemical photographic processes, color and black and white. 

Until March 31: "The Path of Destruction," collages by E.K. Wimmer, Lobby Gallery, Dahl Arts Center, Rapid City.

Until April 13: Special exhibition featuring artwork by Wolf Creek artist Jimi La Pointe. Sioux Indian Museum in the Journey Museum, Rapid City. 

Until April 14: "Denatured," a large installation exhibit by artist Suzanne Wyss, Sen. Stan Adelstein & Lynda K Clark Gallery, Dahl Arts Center, Rapid City.

OTHER

Until March 18, 7:15 p.m.: Nostalgia Night Film Series. The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, Friends of the Devereaux Library, and the Elks Theatre host the film series, themed "From the Request Line." Proceeds go to support the Devereaux Library at the School of Mines. The Feb. 11 film is the 1970 action/WWII war flick "Kelly's Heroes," starring Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas. Season passes for the series are $50. Individual tickets are $7.50. Tickets are available at the library, the Elks Theatre, the Rocker Shop Downtown or by mail at Devereaux Library, 501 E. Saint Joseph St., Rapid City, S.D., 57701. 

Feb. 6: Winterfest: Rock for the Kids, 6 p.m., Cadillac Jacks Gaming Resort, Deadwood, $50. Proceeds to support Youth & Family Services.

Feb. 10, 2 p.m.: Musings from Metro Hermosa. An informal discussion and book signing by Hermosa authors Linda M. Hasselstrom and Rick Mills. Custer County Library, Custer.
