Film Review Tomb Raider

This image released by Warner Bros. Pictures shows Daniel Wu, left, and Alicia Vikander in a scene from "Tomb Raider."

"Tomb Raider": Lara Croft is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished when she was scarcely a teen. Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy east London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Determined to forge her own path, she refuses to take the reins of her father's global empire just as staunchly as she rejects the idea that he's truly gone. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can't understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death. PG13: 118 minutes. AMC 10, Rushmore 7, Northern Hills Cinema

"I Can Only Imagine": The film brings to life the true story behind the song of ultimate hope, 'I Can Only Imagine.' A transformed relationship with his troubled father (Dennis Quaid) inspired Bart Millard (J. Michael Finley), the lead singer of the Christian band MercyMe, to write what is now the most-played radio single in Christian music history. The story beautifully illustrates that nobody is ever too far from God's love — or too far from an eternal home in Heaven. PG: 110 minutes. AMC 10, Northern Hills Cinema

"Love, Simon": Simon is a 16-year-old, not-openly gay student, so when one of his emails falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk and he is forced to step out of his comfort zone before he's outed. PG13: 110 minutes. AMC 10

"7 Days in Entebbe": A gripping political thriller inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris, the film depicts the most daring rescue mission ever attempted. PG13: 104 minutes. Rushmore 7

"Pacific Rim Uprising": John Boyega ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens") leads the cast of this follow-up to 2013's cinematic epic of monsters and mechs, inspiring a new generation to become the biggest heroes to ever walk the earth. PG13: 98 minutes.
