St. Joseph St., Rapid City - "Preaching to the Birds," a mixed-media installation by Black Hills State University assistant professor of art Ann Porter, is on display through March 2. Â· Central Gallery and Ruth Brennan Gallery, Dahl Arts Center, 713 Seventh St., Rapid City - Now on display in the Ruth Brennan Gallery is "Between Earth & Sky," by Lynn Thorpe and Bright Springman. The exhibit runs through March 17. In the Central Gallery, Black Hills area high school teachers get a chance to show off their talents. Â· Youth & Family Services presents its second annual dinner theatre fundraiser, "Broadway Tonight!" Feb. 16 and 17 at the YFS facility at 120 E. Adams St. All proceeds benefit YFS programs. Black Hills artist Eric Johnson returns to headline this evening of popular Broadway tunes. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a social hour and tours of the YFS facility, followed by a buffet dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse. This series features classic films that are shown on consecutive Sunday evenings at Elks Theatre. Â· The 28th annual Winter Arts Show at the Spearfish Art Center Matthews Opera House will be Feb. 9-11. The show will open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10. Viewing hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11. A reception and awards ceremony will be 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
