HOT SPRINGS - Autumn Simunek was crowned Miss South Dakota’s Outstanding Teen Saturday afternoon at the Mueller Civic Center.
Simunek, a freshman at Hot Springs High School, won the Talent Competition at the pageant with an original ballet and also collected the Community Service Award.
Kelly Wismer of Britton was first runner-up, followed by Kelly Herrig of Brookings, Jessica Dyk of Rapid City and Sioux Falls’ Lindsey Trett.
Herrig was selected as the winner of the Fitness in Sportswear competition and Mitchell’s Brandee Miller was named Miss Congeniality by her fellow competitors.
Simunek will receive a $1,000 scholarshop for her title, along with an equal wardrobe allowance and will represent South Dakota at the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando in August.
