The president and chief operating officer of Peabody Energy will deliver the keynote address on May 10 at the 169th commencement ceremony of the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
Glenn Kellow also will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the graduation ceremony. He joined the world's largest privately owned coal company in 2013 and is responsible for all aspects of Peabody’s global operations.

“Glenn Kellow is a leader in the energy and mining industries on two continents and is well-known for his relentless focus on mine safety,” said Heather Wilson, president of the School of Mines.
Nearly 300 students will receive their degrees at the ceremony, which begins at 9 a.m. on May 10 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena.
