STURGIS- Debra Raye Enright, 65, Sturgis, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Sturgis Regional Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Debra was born June 4, 1952, in Mobridge, to Henry and Ramona (Horst) Scherer. Debra graduated from Lead High School in 1970, and from Black Hills State University in 1997. She worked for many years as an accountant in the Lynn's corporate office in Rapid City.
Debra was president of the Grace Lutheran Church Women and on the governing council at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Even though Deb had no children of her own, her love for children was demonstrated through the love and joy she shared with her nieces and nephews as well as the children of Grace Lutheran Church through her puppet ministry.
Debra is survived by her husband, Dillard Enright, Sturgis; mother, Ramona Scherer, Sturgis; and her siblings, David (Sherry) Scherer, Lead, Deanna Mattox, Rapid City, Doreen McGlade, Casper, WY, Dan (Amy) Scherer, Rapid City, Denise Noetzel, Redding, CA, Delphia (Kevin) Johnson, Elko, NV, and Jim (Cheryl) Welckle, Oracle, AZ. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Justin (Kendra) Enright and Scott Enright; mother-in-law, Lucille Enright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Henry Scherer; nephew, Jesse Scherer; brother-in-law, David Mattox; and father-in-law, Bruce Enright.
Memorial services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Inurnment followed at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
Memorials have been established to Relay for Life and to Grace Lutheran Church.
