St. Patrick's Day

It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and this year in Chadron, that brings contests and the annual KCSR/KBPY Spring Preview.

There’s an old Irish proverb that says “There are only two kinds of people in the world, the Irish and those who wish they were.”

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, we’ll all get the chance to show our Irish while exploring vendor booths at the Spring Preview, which features a new format this year. The preview is moving to a new location and doors will be open only one day this year. KCSR/KBPY staff will host the show at the Dawes County Fairgrounds Saturday, with both indoor and outdoor booths.

The Chadron Record will be one of the several businesses with a booth at the Spring Preview, and we need our readers’ involvement. The Record is sponsoring a St. Patrick’s Day photo contest, giving our readers a chance to win tickets to Riverdance, a traditional Irish event.

The rules are simple: head to The Chadron Record Facebook page and post your favorite St. Patrick’s Day celebration photo (family friendly please!!) in the comments section of the St. Patrick’s Day Photo Contest. Or you can email entries to Photos will be accepted until March 16 at noon.

Chadron Record staff will be at the KCSR/KBPY Spring Preview on St. Patrick’s Day, and we’ll be asking visitors to our booth to vote for the best photo. The owner of the winning photo will be headed to a performance of Riverdance at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, S.D., March 31.
