The TCR Treasure Hunt, sponsored by The Chadron Record is back for its fifth year at Fur Trade Days. Explore the downtown area and Chadron’s history as you follow clues and solve puzzles in a race to win $100 in Chadron Chamber Bucks.
As in previous years, the hunt kicks off outside The Record office at 248 West Second St. at noon, Friday, July 13.
This year’s hunt will take participants back to Chadron in 1893, where they will be expected to navigate the city’s streets in search of supplies.
The TCR Treasure Hunt is open to all ages, and playing as a team is encouraged. All stops along the way are within easy walking distance. The field ranges west to east between Morehead and Bordeaux streets, and north to south between First and Third streets.
Participants this year will need to bring a cell phone or digital camera in order to document their stops along the way.
Given the projected temperatures, it’s also suggested everyone bring along water bottles to carry along on their journey. The Record will also have drinks available before and after the treasure hunt.
