Student Art Show and Open House

In honor of National Youth Art Month, Chautauqua Artisans Marketplace is proud to present the third annual Hot Springs High School student art show in the gallery from March 6th through April 5th.  Please stop in an view over 139 unique art pieces by our local students.  Chautauqua will also host a 'Meet & Greet' where you can visit with our young artisans at an Open House on March 16th from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.  Store and gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and located across from the Train Depot at 629 N. River Street.  Chautauqua Craftsmen & Artisans of the Black Hills is a 501c3 non profit organization supporting the arts and art education.

Lenten Lunch 

A Lenten lunch will be served at noon at United Churches in Hot Springs March 14 and 21. 

Boy's Town common sense parenting 

Tuesdays, March 13 to April 17, 6:00-8:00pm at Black Hills Special Services, 737 University Avenue, Hot Springs. Parents will learn to: give clear messages to children, effectively use praise, change behavior through the use of consequences, prevent and correct negative behaviors and help children learn self-control techniques. March 15, our monthly birthday party will be held at 2 p.m. to celebrate all March birthdays. March 17, breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. It will include french toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, coffee and orange juice. March 24, 1pm-4pm, Bingo.

 St Patrick's Day Dinner

St Anthony's Catholic Church will be having their annual St Patrick's Day Dinner on Sunday March 18th from 11:30 am to 1:30 PM.  A corned beef dinner will be served.  A ham dinner will also be available.  Full and half portions will served.  Prices for the dinner are as follows:  Full Portion $10.00; Half Portion $5.00; and Family of 4 or more $30.00.

Boys and Girls Club Fundraiser 

Saturday March 24 at Mt. Rushmore at 5:30 there will be a dinner and fundraiser benefiting the Boys and Girls Club. $60 per ticket includes a three course meal and desert. Live and silent auctions will be held. 

Legion Lake Firefighter Benefit 

March 24, the Buffalo Gap Community Center will host Dinner, Dancing and desert. Music will be provided by Rich McCready and the Mail Order Cowboys. All donations will benefit local fire departments. 

Brookside music

Join us on Sunday, March 25th at 4 pm at Brookside Apartments for live piano and flute music. Classical, standard and pop music will be played. Enter through the west door. This event is free to the public.

Jim Fay and Dr. Charles Fay’s Love and Logic approach to parenting is built around the science of crafting caring and respectful relationships. An authentic, loving connection between parents and their children is the root of a healthy, thriving relationship built on trust and understanding. Join us at Bethesda Lutheran Church for Parenting Kids the Love and Logic Way. This is a five-week parenting training specifically designed for parents of young children complete with DVD lessons and workbook. Babysitting is provided while you are in class. Topics include morning and bedtime routines; mealtime battles; teaching respect, responsibility and self-discipline, potty training; misbehavior in public; whining and crying; and much more.
