PIERRE | A state prison inmate has been placed on escape status after failing to return to a minimum-security unit in Pierre.

State corrections officials said in a news release that Destiny Wilson, 28, was allowed to leave the Pierre Community Work Center on Dec. 2 to go to her work release job, but didn't return to the work center after her shift.

She is described as a white female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs approximately 140 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Wilson is serving three concurrent four-year, eight-month sentences for possession of a controlled substance from Lawrence, Meade and Pennington counties, and a one-year, eight-month sentence for grand theft out of Pennington County.

Anyone with information on Wilson or her whereabouts should contact local law enforcement, according to the release.
