Downtown goes classic

A 1967 Cadillac Sedan Deville owned by Shad Tenold of Rapid City sits on Main Street toward the end of the Cruiser Car Show & Street Fair in downtown Rapid City in July 2017.

Classic cars are set to roar into downtown Rapid City from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 14 as part of the eighth annual Cruiser Car Show & Street Fair.

Cars and trucks dating back as early as 1900 will line Main Street as judges survey the field before an awards ceremony at 8:30 p.m. for a variety of car classes. The Regional Health and Scull Construction Kidz Zone, Main Street Square Fun Express train, and inflatable bounce houses, as well as local food trucks and drinks from the Bud Light Beverage Garden, will round out the festivities. The event is free and open to the public.

People looking to participate in the contest can contact the Main Street Square and Destination Rapid City office at 512 Main St., Suite 980. Early registration is $15, or $20 for registering on the day of the event. For more information, call 716-7979 or visit
