Fire burns down Black Hawk Peterbilt building

No one was injured in a blaze that burned down the Peterbilt building early this morning in Black Hawk.

No hydrants are located near the fire, so the Piedmont Fire Department called in 11 fire departments from the area shortly after the 2:45 a.m. call to help haul water.

Three vehicles were burned in the fire.

Some parts of the building my still be salvageable, according to Piedmont Fire Department Operations Officer Roy Kottwitz. Some of the office area may be saved and many of the metal tools should be salvageable.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
